What’s one truth you want to carry with you on your tech journey?
For me, there are a couple of truths I'd love to carry with me, to wear like a constant reminder. They would help me remember who I truly am.
But if I'm honest, I sometimes slip back into comparing myself to others, feeling like I need to achieve ‘more’ before I truly deserve success, recognition, or even happiness in my career.
If you’ve ever felt the same, you’re not alone. It’s easy to fall into that mindset, especially in tech, where progress is constant and the pressure is high.
We're always chasing the next skill, the next opportunity, or the next big milestone. And in all that chasing, we sometimes forget what already makes us enough.
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to: everything you need to thrive is already within you. You are not defined solely by your job title, your LinkedIn updates, or how many hours you spent coding this week.
You are the total package, a combination of talent, curiosity, resilience, and heart. The part of you that encourages others, solves problems quietly, or simply shows up despite how tough it gets? That’s just as important as any technical skill.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to pause and remind ourselves that growth doesn’t mean we’re not already worthy. Yes, there’s always room to improve, but there’s also strength in accepting where we are now. You don’t have to earn your worth. You already have it.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, behind, or unsure, remember this: your effort matters. Your presence matters. And your mental well-being matters just as much as any goal you’re trying to hit.
