You showed up last month in a way that made me pause… Here’s what we celebrated together.
March happened, and I was in the channels, watching like usual. You showed up not in a checkbox kind of way, but in a real way that made me stop mid-scroll and sit with it. I see the wins you share. Sometimes you do not tag me, but I notice them anyway. Every time I come across your posts, something in me goes yes, this is why we are here.
Here’s a warm welcome to all the new community members who joined us through the hackathon and scholarship programs, and to the new volunteers (can we get a drumroll) who applied to help grow our spaces. Your presence and the way you’ve jumped in, asking questions, helping others, sharing ideas, is already making a difference. You’re part of what makes this community feel alive, supportive, and full of possibility.
Your wins are part of the story we are building together. March was full of moments like that, and April is here with a chance for new beginnings.

🏆 Raenest x DevCareer Hackathon Winners
We have a reason to celebrate: the winners of the Raenest x DevCareer Hackathon!
Some submissions made us blink slowly and keep scrolling. Others stopped us completely. Built from scratch, crafted late at night, and clearly driven by more than the prize money, these projects showed care and commitment.
To all participants: Thank you for building and showing up. Your work proves that the talent is already here.
To the winners: Congratulations! Your ideas, persistence, and creativity earned this moment. You have inspired the community and set a high bar for what is possible.

This year we awarded over 30 Coursera scholarships through applications, plus 4 extra through trivia.

🌟 Community Spotlight | Curiousity With Direction
Oluwabukunmi Akinmi is a Biochemistry graduate from the University of Lagos making a deliberate transition into Business Intelligence. He joined DevCareer through the Coursera scholarship last November and quickly moved from member to contributor — leading the BI cohort office hour session not long after joining.
He’s a Cowrywise Graduate Ambassador, part of the Global Mentorship Initiative, and a member of The Forge with LadyKachi. Intentional, curious, and just getting started, get to meet him today.
